No. 10: Looking "Real" with Matthew Williamson

For the Fall 2011 season, English fashion designer Matthew Williamson is coming out with some bold colors, as well as pieces that are being called "wearable." Williamson encourages structure with button up shirts and blazers and then brings us back down with shaggy fur coats and feathered mini skirts. Alexa Chung and Tallulah Harlech had front row seats to see the new line. Last October, Mattew Williamson announced a new licensing deal with MBFG. The new line was planned to circulate for the Fall 2011 season under the title Muse by Mathew Williamson.

No. 9: Fall 2011 with Proenza Schouler

Get ready for lots of metalics! This approching season of fall and winter 2011, Proenza Schouler is coming out with something different inspired by Native American textiles. Each piece of Proenza Schouler's new line is an individual piece of art created using Japanese shibori fabric dyeing techniques. In addition to this, Schouler continued this process by using a digital design program and exploding the prints and pixalating them. Proenza Schouler has managed to be inventive and cool this season with slouchy pants and asymetrical cuts.

No. 8: Karen Walker

New Zealand based designer Karen Walker has returned this season remind us how easy it is to look cool. According to Nylon Magazine, her latest designs "combine the look of a collegiate honor-student with a rebellious boarding school dropout." What more can you ask for? Oxford shoes paired with knee high socks and tight, knit beanies look relaxed and efortless while still remaining sophisticated.

No. 7: Alexa Chung for Madewell

Classic and elegant fashion label Madewell would describe themselves as "beyond excited" to work with Alexa Chung. A renowned fashion icon in the UK, Alexa Chung serves as contributing editor at the British Vogue. I first learned of this brilliant collaboration in an advertisement of the especially lovely September issue of Nylon magazine. This exclusive Alexa collection is not only adorable but delicate, pollished, and even dainty.

No. 6: Staying Warm with Annie Larson

Who doesn't like a good sweater? Although staying warm may not be something that I am particularly good at, ALL Knitwear founder Annie Larson just made it a whole lot easier. Her full interview can be read on the Urban Outfitters website. Forget nerdy argyle prints (which Annie Larson says she hates) and try some bold, geometric patterns. We're talking about modernizing the Cosby Sweater, which is improving on an already fantastic thing.

No. 5: Look Smart!

Wear glasses? Try these designer eyeglasses by 3.1 Phillip Lim. If you're not a fan of pink (can't imagine why), don't despair becuase the 3.1 Phillip Lim Chloris Eyeglasses also come in Crystal Flesh, Green Tortoise, Matte Black, Tortoise, Gradient Brown, Matte Tortoise, and even Gradient Purple. Back in 2007, Philip Lim was awarded the Council of Fashion Designers of America Emeriging Talent in Womenswear award for his work as the creative director of his label 3.1 Phillip Lim. In its fifth year now, 3.1 Phillip Lim is known for its chic and youthful elegance.
If Phillip Lim is not quite your style, you may prefer these. I personally located these stylishly vintage cat-eye glasses online. Eyeglassboy.com offers one-of-a-kind glasses stocked by old optometrists for pretty reasonable prices. This particular pair comes from the 1950s and is adorned with a 12k gold bridge.

No. 4: "Pretty in Pink"

"Pretty in Pink" is a spread in this month's Nylon magazine,
and probably one of my all time favorites. Found on page 78, it is entirely seasonally appropriate not to mention adorable. Here are some photographs of the article I found online, but I highly recommend picking up the issue to see for yourself. This spring, Nylon stylists suggest that you see the world through "rose-tinted glasses." Textured pastel, blush colors and layers are looking absolutely beautiful to me this season, not to mention romantic and a positive transition from the long winter.

No. 3: Skeleton Hair Clips

I wasn't quite sure how to find something this unique, but thanks to the search engine on Etsy it was difficult at all:
1. http://www.etsy.com/listing/62225131/bone-hair-clips?ref=sr_gallery_31&ga_search_query=skeleton%2Bhair%2Bclip&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=6
I am not such a fan of the hands, personally, but I think they can look very interesting if they are not misplaced.
If you like these, I also found these:

No. 2: The Plateau Forest Dress

This may be the best dress that I have seen this Febuary. I don't typically have very pleasant Febuarys, but just knowing this dress exists marks a significant change in the stars. Awarded a wopping four out of five stars on Modclothe.com, there is nothing "plateau" about it. One particular buyer had this to say in a review: "This dress makes me look amazing. I have curvy hips, but I'm really small on top. The short sleeve area is a little big on me, but the skirt fits just right." Although a bit pricy, the item has recently gone on sale for a mere $69.99. I have never actually purchased anything from this site so I can't personally remark on the quality or my own personal satisfaction with the store. But I can tell you that this dress is on my list.
Buy it here! (But not before I do): http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Dresses/Plateau+Forest+Dress
